Dept. of Information Technology (IT) is one of the oldest departments of Techno International New Town (TINT) established in 2005.  This department runs a B.Tech course affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal and approved by AICTE with 120 no of student intake. The main strengths of the department are strong research potential, student-teacher project ecosystem and personal level mentoring system which has created a strong and long cherished bonding between students and the department. Department has a good placement record in TCS, CTS, Capgemini, Microsoft, Intel etc. Our students have marked their footprints in various eminent institutes worldwide like Max Plank, Oracle, Ohio State University, New York Institute of Technology and many more.

Dept. of IT is enriched with the most experienced professors within the institute who are imparting their contribution in engineering education for more than 15 years. Some of the professors also have the industry experience which helps the students to get the flavour of perfect blending of industry-academia in teaching. Dept. has the highest percentage of faculty members with PhD from different premier institute of India. 

The strong mentoring system and industry oriented outcome based teaching-learning has developed a Research and Innovation ecosystem within the department which results a good number of publications in prestigious conferences and journals every year by the students under the guidance of the extremely capable professors. Selected projects from these pull of publications are nurtured further to be exhibited in different national level technology competitions like Smart India Hackathon, Bengalathon, ACM Project Competition etc. The winning projects then developed further and prototypes are submitted to Department of Science, Technology & Biotechnology, Govt. of West Bengal or STEP IIT Kharagpur for funding. The last phase of this Research and Innovation ecosystem ultimately ends with the award of prestigious Copyright or Patent from Govt. of India or other foreign countries. As a result, till date department has bagged 5 no of copyrights, more than 50 number of National or State level prizes and almost 500 research publications in Springer Nature, IEEE and ACM etc.

The completely engaging journey of 4 years B.Tech course in Information Technology ends with either jobs in top-notched IT companies like IBM, Microsoft, Intel, TCS, CTS, Infosys, Capgemini, Keysight, Thaughtworks, Cerner etc. or a fly to the world higher education. For the last 4 years, the Dept. of IT has maintained its legacy of highest placement record within the institute. This year also the students has reached to the apex of 94% of placement record.

Some of our students are more inclined to the research and higher studies than joining in jobs right after the completion of their B.Tech. They are incubated separately for the preparation of GATE, GRE, TOEFL, ILTS, CAT, MAT or XAT to join M,Tech/ME/MS/MBA courses in different premier institutes of India or abroad. This practice has crowned the department with bunch of brilliant students in IITs, NITs, IIEST Shibpur, Jadavpur University, University of Calcutta in India and various eminent institutes worldwide like Max Plank Germany, Oracle USA, Ohio State University USA, New York Institute of Technology USA and many more.
