The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) was established in the year 2005 to impart quality Under Graduate (UG) education. The department has a rich tradition of teaching and research and is widely recognized to be a pioneer in Electronics and Communication Engineering education in India. The department strives for Excellency in electronics education and research in India. Through a mixture of academic instruction and personal, hands-on exploration, students learn how to lead and meet global challenges of this times.

The department offers wide spectrum of subjects, prominent among them being Analog & Digital Electronics, Electronic Devices & Circuits, Integrated Circuits & Applications, Signals & Systems, Electronic Instrumentation, Microprocessors & Microcontrollers, Embedded System, Electromagnetic Field Theory, Communication Systems, Microwave Engineering, Antenna Wave & Propagation, Power Electronics, Digital Signal Processing, Telecommunication, VLSI Design, Cellular & Satellite Communication, Radar Engineering, VHDL Design, Microwave and Millimeter-wave Integrated Circuits. In addition to these, there are the basic mandatory courses on Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Management.

The students are also encouraged to opt for interdisciplinary Elective courses. The department has fourteen updated laboratories enriched with sophisticated and world class software/ equipment that cover all the above engineering courses. Labs are routinely updated by incorporating modern equipment and software tools in the labs to meet the demands of industries.

The state-of-the-art laboratory facilities are offered in the following labs.

Basic Electronics Lab, Solid State Device Lab, Circuit Theory & Network Lab, Analog & Digital Electronic Circuits Lab, Digital Electronic & Integrated Circuits Lab, Signal System Lab, Design Lab, Microprocessor and Microcontroller Lab, Electromagnetic wave and transmission line Lab, RF & Microwave Engineering Lab, Analog & Digital Communication Lab, VLSI Design Lab, Control System Lab and Digital Signal Processing Lab.

With the growth of the department in respect of intake of students, faculty, teaching and non-teaching staff, the authority plans to start Post Graduate & Research programs in the areas of VLSI, Microwave and Wireless Communication Engineering; this will provide a platform exclusively for bright young graduates to conduct researches in state-of-the-art technologies.
