ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF ACADEMIC COMMITTEE:
The Academic Committee (AC) is the highest academic body of the college and is responsible for laying down, regulating, and maintaining the standards of teaching, research, and examinations in the college. The chief functions of the Academic Committee are as follows:
- The AC reviews and approves the academic calendar, value-added courses and work in tandem with IQAC to ensure proper execution as well as improvement of the teaching-learning and examination processes.
- The AC arranges teaching requirements for successful completion of academic programmes of the college and supervises the same periodically.
- The AC facilitates the Officer-in-Charge of Examinations for making arrangements for conducting examinations, as per the norms of MAKAUT.
- The AC recommends measures for providing necessary infrastructure, human resources and other requirements for progressing towards achievement of the vision of the college.
- The AC facilitates and supervises the functioning of computing and IT infrastructure, central library and other learning resources of the college.
- The AC facilitates the promotion of research culture in the college through collaboration among faculty members of different departments.
- The AC encourages and arranges for collaboration with other reputed academic institutes and the industry.
- The AC is responsible for creating a conducive environment for development of innovation and entrepreneurship.
- The AC ensures discipline among students.
- The AC facilitates and supervises the co-curricular activities of the students, and ensures that it contributes towards their holistic development.
- The AC is responsible for appointing committees from amongst the college teaching staff and experts from outside, in order to sort out and advise on specific academic issues and consequently acting on the recommendations of such committees after due consideration.
- The AC plans and executes the overall academic growth of the college by making recommendations and ensuring the implementation of the same.
