Dr. Kashmi Mondal and Prof. Barnali Dutta Roy from Basic Science and Humanities Department (BSH) attended an AICTE sponsored Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Universal Human Values (UHV II)” from 22nd August 2022- 26th August 2022. This FDP is one of the steps taken by AICTE in the direction of imbibing universal human values education among teachers so that they in turn can prepare themselves to inculcate values among the students to turn them into responsible professionals.

The resource person for the FDP was Dr. Vanchna Singh, Associate Professor, Inderprastha Engineering College, Ghaziabad. The content of the FDP was simple, extremely effective, universal, rational and verifiable, guiding the participants to the ways of achieving harmony at the level of individual, family, society and nature/co-existence. Daily assignments were given for self-exploration, and a test was conducted on the final day to assess the overall development of the participants.

Conducting special sessions on human values during first year student induction program was highly encouraged at the FDP. For a faculty member this FDP was a positive indicator of self-development as well as institutional progress.
