The following rules and regulations must be maintained in the library premises. The students are advised to go through these rules before using the library.
- Working Hours: Library remains operational from 09:30 am to 06:30 pm on every working day excepting Sundays and holidays. Circulation hours is fixed at 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
- Keeping Silence: Silence must be maintained inside the library. Chatting or gossiping and loitering in the library are strictly prohibited.
- Use of mobile phones: SMobile phones should be kept in silent mode inside the reading room. Attending phone calls or playing songs or movies or videos on laptops / mobiles etc. inside the reading room is strictly prohibited.
- About Library Membership Card:

- Student Identity card / Employee Identity card issued by the college will act as library membership card. No separate membership card will be issued to the users. No user will be entertained in the library without a proper identity card.
- The identity card / membership card is not transferable i.e. users must use their own card. One cannot issue books and other documents showing other’s membership card. In such case proper authorization letter must be shown to the concerned library staff.
- In case of loss of identity card, the users should contact the appropriate authority of the college immediately and issue a duplicate card at the earliest.
- Change of Address or Telephone Number: Any change of address (permanent or temporary) or telephone number should be intimated to the concerned authority in writing with a photocopy of supporting document.
- Circulation rules for Students

- Books will be issued on first come first served basis.
- A maximum of eight (8) books will be issued (subject to availability) to the students at a time for lending which can be kept upto the semester exam.
- Reference books can be issued for a maximum period of 14 days depending upon the demand and availability of the concerned book.
- Renewal of books is possible for one month only in case of textbooks and 7 days in case of reference books. Renewal can be done for 2 times only.
- Gift books can be issued for 7 days only and can be renewed thereafter as per renewal rules.
- Circulation rules for faculty members

- Faculty members can issue a maximum of ten (10) books at a time for the period of one month which may be renewed thereafter for another period of one month. A maximum of 2 renewals can be made for a particular book.
- Part Time / Contractual / Probationary / Visiting / Guest Faculty members can issue 2 books at a time for a period of one month. They must submit the books to the library on or before their last date of contract.
- Borrowing of other Resources:

- Periodicals: Periodicals (Journals / Magazines / Newspapers) cannot be issued to the members. They are to be used in the reading room only.
- Electronic Resources: eBooks, Online Journals, CDs/DVDs, forms the electronic resources which are available in the digital section of the library. CDs/DVDs (available with books and magazines) can be issued to the members for a limited period. Online journals and eBooks can be accessed in the digital section of the library or through remote access software (Knimbus).
- Question Papers: The library has a repository of previous years’ university question papers (soft copy) which are available in digital mode and can be directly accessed through Knimbus.
- Returning of books and Fine rules

- Books should be returned or renewed within the stipulated date stamped on the due date slip, otherwise a fine of Re. 1/- will be imposed on the students per day for each book till the submission of the book. However, there is no fine system for faculty members.
- If the book is lost or damaged or badly mutilated after lending from the library, the last borrower of the book will be held responsible. He / she should replace the exact book in good condition.
- If the book is on demand, the period of loan cannot be extended.
- Books issued for reading purpose cannot be taken outside the library. If found, a fine of Rs. 2/- will be imposed on the student per book per day till the submission of the book.
- Maintaining library registers:

- All users should maintain library attendance register regularly. They must mention the in-time, out-time and purpose of visiting the library in the said register.
- Proper entries to be made in the reading room issue register and periodicals issue register before using the books and periodicals respectively. These will help the library authorit to keep a record of the daily utilization of resources.
- Use of reference section: Reference section of the library must be used for reading library documents (books or journals or newspapers) only. Reading personal books, using personal laptops, any project or practical work cannot be done in the reference section.
- Knimbus registration:The library provides the facility of remote access of online resources through a remote access software named Knimbus. All users should register themselves in Knimbus to access the online resources. For this purpose, they must scan the following QR code given for the purpose at various locations in the library.
- OPAC view: All users should check their account in TCSiON Self-Service portal regularly. This portal shows the current status of users’ accounts i.e. issue status, fine status, reservation status etc. (My Library section). From OPAC Library section they can also check the availability of books in the library.
- If the book is found to be damaged or badly mutilated during lending, it should be immediately brought to the notice of the concerned library staff.
- Members are directed not to write or highlight anything inside the books borrowed from the library.
- Users must not leave any book, borrowed for reading or lending purpose, on the reading desks. They must submit the books in the circulation counter before leaving the library.
- Personal Belongings Bags are not allowed inside the library. They are to be kept in the place provided outside the library. However, they may carry their valuables like mobiles, laptops, purse and other personal belongings inside the reading room. Authorities will not be responsible for any kind of theft of personal belongings inside or outside the library.
- Refreshments of any kind shall not be taken on the library premises.
- Feedback Register: There is a feedback register in the library where a student / faculty member can put his / her demand for any document or grievance regarding non-availability of documents or that of library services. The register is available in the circulation section of the library.
- Any kind of misbehaviour or unfair activities inside the library will be strictly dealt with.
- Library Clearance Certificate: An outgoing student / faculty / staff must submit the membership cards along with books and other documents borrowed from the library in order to obtain a library clearance certificate.
- These rules may be revised or amended from time to time and the revised or amended rules will be applicable to all the members irrespective of their dates of registration in library.
