Kalam Program for IP Literacy and Awareness (KAPILA), which will create appropriate awareness regarding the need of IP filing, mechanism, and methodology involved in filing IP in India and globally, especially amongst students and faculty of higher education institutions. In this regard Techno International New Town registered in KAPILA on 7th March, 2022 for the financial assistance for the institutions that are part of the Higher Education Institutions for filing patent.


The objective of KAPILA is to recognise, facilitate and felicitate the Intellectual Property, innovations, and best practices in HEIs. KAPILA will help in establishing the much-required IP filing ecosystem and thus create a culture of systematically protecting new ideas, research, and innovation having national and global relevance.


To create awareness and educate on Intellectual property rights (IPR) among faculty and students at the college and to advice and guide faculty and students on the importance of IPR, KAPILA, Techno International New Town is celebrating National Intellectual Property Literacy Week. Kalam Program for IP Literacy and Awareness (KAPILA) is organizing an awareness program in collaboration with ‘National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission (NIPAM) by An Awareness Program on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) on 26th April, Tuesday, 2022. This program aims to establish the prerequisite IP filing ecosystem in a large number of educational institutes thus creating a culture of systematically protecting new ideas, research, and innovation having national and global relevance. Resource persons are Mr. Koushik Pal, Examiner of Patents & Designs (Group ‘A’ Gazetted), The Patent Office, Kolkata, DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India. And Mr. Arihant Kothari, Deputy Manager (10000Startups) at NASSCOM.


To create awareness and educate on Intellectual property rights (IPR) along with Innovation, Entrepreneurship among faculty and students at the college A Workshop was organised at Techno International New Town on “Innovation, Entrepreneurship and IPR” by Dr. Siddhartha Das, Professor, Dept. of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and Managing Director of Science and Technology Entrepreneurs' Park, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur on 13th May, Friday, 2022.
