International Women’s Day, originally called International Working Women’s Day was first observed and celebrated by the United Nations on 8th March, 1975. The focus of the activities organized ranges from general celebration of respect, appreciation and love towards women for their economic, political and social achievements. The theme for International Women’s Day 2016 has been decided as “Planet 50-50 by 2030: step it up for Gender Equality.” In compliance to this theme nations all over the world have pledged to take a concrete step to help achieve gender parity, whether to help the women and girls to achieve their ambitions, a call for gender balanced leadership, respect the individuality or develop more inclusive and flexible cultures and eradicate any biases at the workplace.
Techno India College of Technology celebrated International Women’s Day on 8th March 2016 as a mark of respect to all the female faculty and staff members. The Principal, Registrar, Dean and the Assistant Registrar greeted all the women faculty and staff members of the Institute. It was said that a tuneful balance and harmony between the male and the female working force is indispensable for the steady progress of any organization. At TICT, sincere efforts have always been made to respect the individuality and self esteem of the women employees in the various academic and the co-curricular activities of the Institute. It was also said that a greater participation from the women employees can only pave the way for this Institute’s further progress and glory.
