The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, TINT would like to organize an invited talk on “Pervasive Computing for Sustainable and Smart Cities” by Dr.-Ing. Sian Lun Lau, Professor, Department of Smart Computing and Cyber Resilience, Sunway University, Malaysia, for the students and faculty members of TINT, Kolkata on 23rd April, 2025.

The objective of this invited talk is to explore how pervasive computing technologies are transforming urban environments into sustainable and smart cities. By seamlessly integrating computing into everyday infrastructure through IoT, sensor networks, and intelligent systems, cities can enhance efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and improve quality of life for their citizens. The talk will highlight real-world applications, current research trends, and the critical role of data-driven decision-making in urban planning. It will also address the challenges and ethical considerations involved, and emphasize the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration to build inclusive, resilient, and future-ready cities.
