A blood donation camp is organized by the department of Electrical engineering on 2nd March, 2023 within the premises of Techno International New Town in association with Life Care Medical Foundation, Kolkata. It was inaugurated by the honorable Director Prof. (Dr.) R.T. Goswami, and the Head of the Electrical Engineering department Prof. (Dr.) Milan Basu in the presence of other departmental HODs and dignitaries. It began at around 11 am and continued up to 4 pm, with a steady stream of donors throughout. The camp saw enthusiastic participation by students and faculty. A total of 85 donors donated their blood out of the 120 registered donors. All the students were happy to be able to play their part in lending a helping hand to the people in the region. A part of the room was utilized for a thorough medical check-up of potential donors, as well as the donation itself, while in another part the donors could lie down and recuperate for a while before leaving the venue. After donation they were provided with refreshments such as sweets, egg, banana, croissants etc. The blood samples were carefully collected, sealed and transported away.
Throughout the day, there were smiles and laughter all around - a true embodiment of what we believe in - selfless service with a smile. The donors also received certificates of recognition. In short, the Electrical Engineering department came up for a great cause and successfully conducted the blood donation camp.
