The Department of Basic Science and Humanities in collaboration with School of Languages and Linguistics Jadavpur University organized a one-day international conference on “ICT As a Tool for Digitalization of Education” on 18 th January, 2023. This conference probed into the ways information and communication technology (ICT) is being incorporated into contemporary educational practices and policies.  The eminent speakers of the conference were Prof. Weng Marc Lim, Professor & Dean, Sunway Business School, Sunway University, Dr. Michael Hammond Education Studies at the University of Warwick, Warwick, U.K., Arunava (Ron) Majumdar, Architect, Cloud and Cognitive, Lead, Asset Portfolio Strategy, Lead, Chicago, MW, India and Dr Saptorshi Das Professor KIIT School of Management, KIIT DU, Bhubaneswar. The papers presented are related to language and communication, surveying online platforms, Impact of COVID-19 on education, the growth of ICT tools in the Multimedia domain etc. A few papers have focused on surveying the current literature while others consider empirical studies. Some papers pivot around the application of ICT in various fields such as Law, Irrigation, and Ecology.
