Basanta Utsav.....
On the eve of April 8, 2021, The Club of Performing Arts of Techno International New Town - Hridmajhare hosted a cultural programme “মুক্তধারা। বসন্তে, নব আনন্দে.....” to celebrate the occasion of Basanta Utsav (Holi). This was when people started coming out of their homes after the Corona pandemic, spring was going to end heralding the advent of summer. Justifying its name, the intent of this program was to celebrate life and freedom with colours of joy and to welcome the new, which indeed was poetic. The event was streamed live on the club’s official Facebook page to reach those who could not attend the programme. The Mistress of the Ceremony was Twinkle Chatterjee of the IT Department, who gracefully managed the programme’s flow and atmosphere. In this programme, professors and students participated alike, exhibiting their talents in music and dance, captivating the spectators with their stellar performances. It was an ensemble of melody and elegance, following the traditions of Tagore, without whose songs and poems, Basanta Utsav is ever incomplete. The showstopper was Swarnadeepa Ghosh of the CSE Department upholding the folk songs of Bengal. The last performance of the day was a dance to the song “আমরা নূতন যৌবনের-ই দূত” dedicated to the new possibilities that awaited us in the future. It gave a delightful ending to the evening. All the audience experienced a wonderful day in the programme.
