KABIPRANAM 2021
Keeping in mind and adhering to all of the restrictions imposed by the Government of India to protect the country and its citizens from the second wave of the Corona pandemic, The Club of Performing Arts of Techno International New Town – Hridmajharae decided to host their Rabindra Jayanti programme "কবি প্রণাম ১৪২৮" online on May 9, 2021, to commemorate Rabindra Nath Tagore's 160th birth anniversary.
With the blessings of technology, the event was streamed live on the official Facebook page of the club. The event began at 5 PM and all participating students and faculty members were requested to join the live session with the help of the link shared with them. WhatsApp groups of all classes were made separately and the teachers had to make sure all the students received the link to view the live event on Facebook.
The Master of the Ceremony was Prof. Dr Sanjay Das Neogi of the Civil Engineering Department, who skilfully managed the programme’s flow and atmosphere. The event was inaugurated by the Director of the college, Prof. Dr R. T. Goswami, addressing the audience, where he extolled the tireless efforts of the club in organizing cultural events throughout the year.
The main event began with the opening song performed by Debadrini Halder of the ECE Department that set the tune to the programme. Following this, all other students and faculty members paid their tribute to Kaviguru through their stellar performances in music, dance and recitation.
Finally, we were all asked to sing the National Anthem, which has become an Indian ritual that is performed at the beginning or end of every event. This year's celebrations were unique in comparison to previous years. Despite its limitations, this event was a huge success because it instilled in us a sense of unity, love, positivity, and hope. It demonstrated that we can be strong if we work together.
