Blockchain is a term we often hear in our daily lives, but what exactly makes it so intriguing, what makes people say it is the future of leading industries, and what exactly makes it such a big deal?

On September 6th, 2022 Department of Information Technology of Techno International New Town, hosted a seminar to help students understand the importance of Blockchain Technology. The speaker of the event was Mr. Souvik Das.

By profession, he is an Associate Partner with IBM India Private Ltd. He is the Global Leader for Blockchain Solutioning and also the Global Leader for Garage Solutioning, which is an IBM methodology that focuses on enabling large-scale transformations of clients.

The seminar lasted two hours and was a wealth of information. He explained blockchain in layman's terms. It's significance and also provided new business perspectives on the subject.

A blockchain, in general, is a foundation for immutable ledgers, or records of transactions that cannot be changed, deleted, or destroyed. It is a revolutionary alternative for web security in the coming phase of technology.
