“Breaking Barriers” is an initiative taken by Techno India Group in association with the British Deputy High Commission, to solemnize the “International Day of the Girl Child”.

International Day of the Girl Child is an international observance day declared by the United Nations on October 11, 2011. “Plan International’s” project Because I am a Girl campaign raised awareness for the importance of nurturing girls globally and in the developing countries in particular. Techno India Group is very proud to take a step towards this noble aim which can make this world a better place to live in.

A Panel Discussion on Women’s Empowerment will Lead to Social Development was held at Techno India College of Technology, Rajarhat, with Chief Guest, Prof. Saikat Moitra, Vice Chancellor, MACAUT and  , Mr. Bruce Bucknell, British Deputy High Commissioner Kolkata as the keynote speaker and Mr. Naparajit Mukherjee (Chairman Human Rights Commission, West Bengal), Ms Ruchira Goswami, Professor NUJS (Centre for Child Rights), Mrs. Supriya Roy, Managing  (Director  Sugar & Spice),  Mrs. Shymashree Sen (Rotary, District Governor)as panelists. Ms Swati Bhattacharjee, Associate Editor, Ananda Bazar Patrika moderated the panel.

20 top girl students from Techno India Group of Institutions were felicitated jointly by Techno India Group and British Deputy High Commission for their outstanding performances.
