A seminar was organized by Techno India College of Technology on 07.08.2015 in the Language Laboratory, on the prospects of an undergraduate student to study in USA. The students of the 3rd and the 4th years of TICT attended the programme. The heads of the different Departments selected the students from their respective departments and sent them to the Seminar. The Hon’ble Director of the Institute welcomed the guests from USIEF and The American Library. He also emphasised on the importance of the students to be aware of the various opportunities that are available to them regarding pursuing higher studies in USA. Ms. Chandni Wadhwani from USIEF began the seminar with her presentation on the different aspects of studying in USA. At the very outset she exploded the prevalent myth that studying in USA is a costly affair. In her presentation she talked about the Organizations offering scholarships among other things. Mr. Debashis Ghosh from the American Library gave a presentation on the vast resources that are at the disposal of the members. He also threw light on the online library and the way of using it. Finally the Director of the American Library, Dr. Sushanta Banerjee addressed the students about different career issues. The students also participated in a Quiz on the achievements of Americans in different spheres. The Seminar concluded with a vote of thanks from the Registrar of the Institute.
