Management Department of Techno India College of Technology (TICT) hosted a one day workshop on the Case study Method on the 9th, November 2016. Colonel Prabir Sengupta, Vishisht Seva Medal (Retired) was invited as the chief speaker.

Students and faculty members of College of Management participated in this workshop. The sessions were organized on using cases as a pedagogical tool. Case studies are a way of getting student interest and engagement. It is a way of teaching new and novel subjects. Case studies can be enjoyable and engaging for learners. The workshop focused on learning the case study method, with demonstrations and time to prepare cases of their own

This workshop emphasized the value of the case method in the learning process and to champion the cause of Case Based Learning in Business Schools through

• Creating a repository of teaching cases with an Indian context
• Spreading awareness on the value of the Case Method in learning, especially management learning.
• Setting and propagating practice standards for development and use of cases in management education.

The workshop aimed to enable the development of writing case studies. Participants will learn the theory behind developing a good case study and the guiding principles of writing case studies which will be of immense help for management students in future.
