The Department of Management in collaboration with ISTD, conducted a 5-day training program on Management Essentials from 11th July 2022 to 15th July 2022. The workshop was designed to equip participants with vital management skills. The program covered a range of topics including self-management, stress management, time management, planning and scheduling, communication skills, conflict resolution, team building, performance management, motivation and reward, and career management. The participants were the admin staffs of TINT.
The primary objectives of the training program were:
• To enhance participants' self-management and stress management abilities.
• To teach effective time management, prioritizing tasks, planning, and scheduling.
• To improve communication skills and conflict resolution techniques.
• To develop team-building skills, focusing on building trust and rapport.
• To provide strategies for managing performance, motivating teams, and rewarding success.
• To assist participants in career management and professional growth.
The program:
The program was inaugurated at 10AM on 11th July 2022 by lighting the lamp and watering the plants, Lighting of the lamp and Inaugural address by Principal, TINT and welcome address, by Prof. Santanu Mukherjee, HOD Management Department by Day 1: Self- Management and Stress Management: The topics covered were Understanding Self- Management and Goal setting and Personal planning, Stress management techniques and Building Self-Confidence. Day 2: Principles of Time Management and Prioritizing Tasks: Principles of Time management and prioritizing tasks, Planning and scheduling and overcoming procrastination. The importance of time management in achieving goals, Tools and techniques for effective time management, avoiding common time management pitfalls, the Eisenhower Matrix: Urgent vs. Important tasks, techniques for prioritizing tasks and activities, managing interruptions and staying focused were discussed. Day 3: Communication skill and conflict resolution, Team Building – building trust and rapport. The benefits of effective planning and scheduling, tools for planning and scheduling tasks and projects, Short- term vs. long-term planning were discussed. Team building activities were performed. Day 4 focussed on Identifying causes of underperformance and Strategies to address and improve performance. Understanding employee motivation and designing effective reward systems were elaborated. Last day participants were briefed on how to manage career management and build networking and mentoring.
