IQAC, TINT, conducted a 5-days workshop on “Managing records efficiently” for the administrative staffs on 4th November 2019 to 8th November 2019. Training objectives for administrative staff on efficient record management should be designed to ensure that participants understand the importance of effective record management and develop the necessary skills to maintain records efficiently. The primary objectives of the training program were:
• Understand the importance of effective record management.
• Develop skills in organizing and categorizing records.
• Learn best practices for record retention and disposal.
• Skills Development in Record Retrieval and Access Control
• Training on Record Preservation
• Understand legal and regulatory requirements related to record management.
• Mastery of Record Maintenance and Compliance
The program:
The program was inaugurated by the director, brief welcome address by Dr. T K Nandi, the IQAC coordinator, Keynote speech by Director Dr. R T Goswami. Day 1: Dr, Sayantika Bose Chaudhuri delivered a lecture on understanding the Importance of Record Management: emphasizing the significance of organized record management in enhancing operational efficiency and decision-making. Familiarity with Record Management Policies and Procedures: covered the organization's specific policies and procedures related to record creation, maintenance, and disposal. Day 2: the facilitator elaborated proficiency in Record Organization and Classification. The techniques for effective organization, classification, and indexing of records were discussed to facilitate easy retrieval and compliance. The strategies and tools for efficient record retrieval, emphasizing access control and security measures to
protect sensitive information were discussed. Day 3: Importance of preserving records, including disaster recovery plans to ensure continuity of operations during crises, mastery of record maintenance and compliance: Detailed best practices for ongoing record maintenance and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements were detailed. The lecturer thrown light on integration of Record Management Software and Tools. Practical sessions on utilizing record management software and tools to streamline processes and improve efficiency were conducted. Last not the least, the methods for evaluating record management practices and implementing continuous improvement strategies, compliance and Auditing were briefed to the participants.
